WebUp®'s guide to Local SEO
So you have a new website or you have an existing website which doesn't appear high up when you search?
If your website doesn't have any incoming links from specific expected sources the search engines don't give your website much trust or credibility, no matter how much 'on page' optimization has been performed.
We're not going to give away all of WebUp®'s secrets here, but these are the basics, the minimum required to get your website ranking strongly in natural search.
1) Local SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Add your business's basic information to the following four websites, won't take long to do all four. Make sure you are consistent with the same Business Name, Address, Phone number & Website URL.
Google My Business:- www.google.com/business
Bing Business Places:- www.bingplaces.com
Yell (formally yellow pages):- www.yell.com/free-listing
Yelp:- biz.yelp.co.uk
2) Social Media
Ensure your business's social media pages have a link to your website, also make sure the business's Name, Address, Phone number is mentioned if possible.
3) Reviews
Get your customers to leave you Google and Facebook reviews, these must be genuine or you will be penalised! (Google and Facebook are very clever).
